About Palenque
Palenque is a gorgeous place located in the northern part of Chiapas. It comprises the central portion of the Mayan zone and boasts a remarkable cultural history due to the existence of that legendary civilization. This exceptional city is located in the middle of the forest and is one of the largest creations of this ancient people.
The site possesses an invaluable number of architectural sites that will transport you to the past including the Templo de las Inscripciones (Temple of the Inscriptions) and the Palace.

Other structures include the Templo de la Reina Roja (Temple of the Red Queen), the Templo de la Cruz Foliada and the Templo del Sol (Temple of the Sun).
